Holiday Gift Fund for Teachers & Staff
Hello Cougar Families! It's time to spread some holiday cheer and show our Culbreth teachers and staff how much we appreciate them! We have carried on the tradition of establishing a Holiday Gift Fund to gift our teachers and staff with a little extra cash this holiday season. A school wide fund ensures that every teacher and staff member is celebrated and honored. Our goal is to gift $75 in cash to every teacher and staff member and $25 in cash to bus drivers. Every member of the Culbreth team will be included!
Our goal for this year is $8,000 or more, and we have a long way to go to meet our goal. You can help by donating today and spreading the word to others in our community. No donation is too small! Donations will be accepted through December 11. Donations to the Culbreth Holiday Gift Fund can be made here. All donations go directly to Culbreth teachers and staff! If you would like to make a donation via an alternative payment form please email Jamie Gilley at jamiegilley3@gmail.com. (This is a parent led initiative. This is not a PTA affiliated fundraiser).
Thank you for your support and generosity!!
PTSA Fund Drive
Now is your chance to make a difference at Culbreth. The PTSA's Annual Fund Drive has now officially kicked off. Make your gift today. The PTSA thanks you for your continued support!
Holiday Hope & Joy
If you would like to help give a Culbreth family something they can really use this holiday season please consider donating a grocery card and/or a warm winter coat!
Children who receive free and reduced breakfast and lunch eat two meals a day at school. Over the holidays, it is a real difficulty for some families to feed all of their children three meals a day for nearly two weeks. No additional food stamps are given to families during this time to help defray the cost of extra food.
If you would like to donate a grocery card - please drop one off at the front office
BY DECEMBER 9 and I will distribute these to Culbreth families the week of December 16th. Cards received after this date will be distributed as needs arrive throughout the remainder of the year. Wal Mart and Food Lion are the easiest for families to access.
Coats could be new OR gently used.
Most needed are the adult sizes: Small through XL
Families are constantly updating me on this need so I don’t have an exact number.
Please drop off in the front office BY DECEMBER 9 so I can distribute the week of the 16th. Any coats remaining will be distributed to CHCCS families outside of CMS. Gloves and winter hats are also welcome!
Please email me to let me know if YOU are in need of a coat or card. We are here to support one another.
Cheers to good health and peace in 2025!
Warmly and with gratitude,
Stefanie Mazva-Cohen

Don't Miss this Incredible Opportunity for Parents!
UNC's very own Winston National Center on Technology Use, Brain & Psychological Development is asking YOU, parents/guardians of K-12, to share with them what the challenges are of raising a child/teen in this digital age. Mitch Prinstein, Ph.D. & Eva Telzer, Ph.D., leading researchers in the country and co-directors of The Center, will be leading this discussion on Wednesday, December 4 at 6:00pm. This is a great opportunity to have your voice heard, tell the top experts in this industry what support parents need, and help shape future projects!
Spread the word! Bring a friend! All parents/guardians of K-12 (any school) are invited!
Culbreth STEAM Day is set for March 14th, 2025. We are in need of volunteers to help present sessions from 8:30-11:30. If you can volunteer to present, please contact sanand@chccs.k12.nc.us.
The sessions can be on science, technology, engineering (any branch), arts, or math and its applications. There will be three - four sessions of 25 minutes each.
